Katy Plambeck shot a 54 to lead Glenwood to a fourth place finish at the Abraham Lincoln Tourney.

The Red Oak girls golf team edged Glenwood 223-251 in Hawkeye 10 Conference girls golf Thursday at the Red Oak Country Club.

Red Oak’s Brynn Knaus shot a 47 to win top medalist honors.

Katy Plambeck led Glenwood with a round of 53 to place second. Avery Joyce shot a 56, Emily Walters a 69 and Ryley Nebel a 73 to round out the Rams’ scoring.

Addey Lydon shot a 53, Steph Medina a 61 and Emily Sebeneicher a 62 to complete the Tigers’ scoring.

The Glenwood girls golf team finished fourth at the Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln Tournament at Dodge-Riverside Golf Club in Council Bluffs last Tuesday.

Sergeant Bluff-Luton won the team title with 219 points. Underwood shot a team round of 220 for second place. Glenwood finished with 226 points, three points back of third place Sioux City Heelan.

Just a day after dropping a home dual to Atlantic, Glenwood coach Maria Jacobus saw progress Tuesday.

“We improved our team score by 15 strokes from yesterday to today, which is great,” Jacobus said. “All my players also improved their individual scores which means we’re heading in the right direction early in the season.  I’m excited by that progress and we’ll be working to keep it going.”

Alyssa Schorg shot a 47 to win top individual honors.

Faith Weber shot a round of 50 to finish as the runner-up.

Katy Plambeck carded a 54, Ryle Nebel a 60 and Emily Walters a 62 to cap Glenwood’s scoring.

Glenwood’s girls golf team opened its season last Monday with a 241-214 dual loss to Atlantic at the Glenwood Golf Course.

The Rams’ Faith Weber won top medalist honors. Weber shot a 51 and then won via handicap score to edge the Cardinal’s Gianna Rock, who also shot a 51.

Avery Joyce shot a 57, Katy Plambeck a 65 and Haylie Bonilla a 68 to complete the Rams’ scoring.

Rock led four Cardinals to score in the 50s. Taylor Rasmussen shot a 53, Jonja Brown a 54 and Tatum Watkins a 56.
