Rams fall 1-0 on road at Underwood
Glenwood could find its rhythm in its attack in a 1-0 loss to Underwood in girls non-conference soccer Thursday.
“I was happy with our effort in the game,” said Glenwood coach Amy Benson. “I am hopeful we will find ways to build from that game to work towards playing our best soccer as the season goes on.”
The Rams got off to a slow start in the loss, struggling to connect passes to ignite an offense that scored nine goals in the season opening three days earlier.
“We made some nice adjustments and were able to have more of an offensive attack in the second half,” Benson said. “We had some chances but couldn’t find a way to get one in the back of the net.”
Underwood’s goal came off a late corner kick booted in by Raegan Ward.
Ram goalkeeper Audrey Nieman had 17 saves in goal.

Sioux City West 0
The Glenwood girls soccer team opened its season with a 9-0 victory over Sioux City West last Monday at the Glenwood Activities Complex.
Jaylynn Floyd had three goals and Gaby Lovato two to lead the Rams.
“I was happy for our first game,” said Glenwood coach Amy Benson. “There were a lot of different goal scorers and our defense and goal keeper were able to keep a clean sheet.”
Brielle Allmon, Faith Weber, McKenna Koehler and Aby Luddington added goals for Glenwood. Audrey Nieman had one save in goal and notched the clean sheet.
