Glenwood caps strong week with title at Big Red Relays


Glenwood’s Logyn Eckheart finished second in the discus at the Big Red Relays.

Glenwood scooped up its second team title of the week at the Big Red Relays Thursday in Missouri Valley.

Three days after winning its own Ram Relays, Glenwood won six events and tallied 147 points to win the team crown in Missouri Valley. Treynor finished as the runner-up with 122 points.

Bryant Keller (800-meters) and Preston Slayman (1,600-meters) grabbed individual wins while the Rams won the 4x800-meter, 4x400-meter, distance medley and shuttle hurdle relays.

Keller added to his gold haul running a leg on the 4x800-meter relay and Victor Cruz ran on both the 4x400-meter and distance medley relays.

Rams win boys relays

The Glenwood boys track team captured the team title at its own 61st annual Boys Ram Relays last Monday at the Glenwood Activities Complex.

The Rams finished compiled 145.5 points to outpace runner up Council Bluffs Lewis Central’s 134 points. Atlantic was third with 107 points.

Glenwood picked up four first place individual finishes with Anthony Driscoll-Lee topping the field in the 110-meter hurdles and the long jump, Bryant Keller winning the 3,200-meters and Logyn Eckheart winning the discus.

The Rams also picked up golds in the 4x800-meter and distance medley relays.
