Roberta H. (Hockabout) Kuhl, 91, Pacific Junction

Roberta H. (Hockabout) Kuhl, age 91, of Pacific Junction, died March 3, 2009, in Council Bluffs. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 5, 2009, at First Christian Church in Glenwood with Pastor Perry Perrett officiating. Interment was in the Glenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Kuhl was born May 21, 1917, in Hastings, to John Miles and Trecia Katheryn (Critz) Hockabout. She was employed with Rager Laundry as well as other family laundry services for most of her adult life until her retirement in the mid 1980s. She married Junior Fred Kuhl on Oct. 23, 1999, in Glenwood. She loved to travel and went on numerous cruises and trips with the Heritage Club. She devoted many hours of service to the Glenwood Senior Center and was a member of RSVP and the First Christian Church in Glenwood. She loved spending time with her family and dearly loved her cats.

Preceding Mrs. Kuhl in death were her parents; sister, Beulah Mary Sargent; brothers, Pearl Wilbur; Everett Roy; Orville Raymond; Homer William; twin brother, Robert Harry Hockabout; and step-daughter, Nancy Waller. She is survived by her loving husband, Junior Fred Kuhl of Pacific Junction; brother, Johnnie Hockabout of Glenwood; step-children, Dixie and husband Tom Fritz of New Market; Harry and wife Deanna Kuhl of Glenwood; Tim and wife Karla Kuhl of Council Bluffs; several step-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church or Glenwood Senior Center. Peterson Mortuary of Glenwood was in charge of arrangements.
