Richard Lee Fredrickson, one of three children of Lucille Connie (Wickey) Erisman and James Glenn Erisman, was born in Omaha, Neb., on Aug. 12, 1964. Rich grew up in Council Bluffs, where he graduated from Lewis Central High School in 1982. Following school, Rich began driving delivery routes for Coors and the Clear Lake Bakery.
In 1985, Rich and high school sweetheart Annette Browning, purchased land north of Glenwood, where the couple planned to build a home. Rich was an avid outdoorsman and loved the wooded setting and abundant wildlife the property offered. On May 10, 1986, Rich and Annette were married and their marriage was blessed with a daughter, Amber Marie in 1988.
In 1993, the family moved to their new home north of Glenwood. In 2001, Rich formed the ARA Distributing Company and established delivery routes for Little Debbie Snack Cakes throughout north Omaha and Glenwood. Rich loved to spend time with his family and to hunt. He instinctively knew when each season was about to open and could always be found in a tree, scouting for game. Rich also loved NASCAR and his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, which he enjoyed riding through the hills of southwest Iowa. In 2010, Rich’s health began to fail and he retired from ARA Distributing in April.
Rich and Annette had been married 24 years when Rich died at the Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospital in Council Bluffs, on Oct. 4, 2010. He had attained the age of 46 years, 1 month, and 22 days. Rich was preceded in death by his father, James Erisman.
Rich is survived by his wife Annette Fredrickson and daughter Amber Fredrickson, both of Glenwood; mother Lucille Erisman; brothers, Don Fredrickson and wife Starla, and Tony Fredrickson and wife Jody, all of Glenwood; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at the Hertz Funeral Home in Glenwood. There was no scheduled visitation. Pastor Darrell Hopp officiated. A memorial fund has been established. Hertz Funeral Home of Glenwood in charge of arrangements.
