Glenwood Community Schools Looking For New School Business Official

Tim Reinert
The Glenwood Community School District is looking for a new School Business Official and board secretary.
Tim Reinert, who has served in that position for five years, announced in August he was stepping down after accepting a position in the Council Bluffs Community School District.
As Glenwood’s School Business Official and board secretary, Reinert oversaw the business operations of the school district and worked closely with Superintendent Dr. Nicole Kooiker and the Board of Education. His main duties included providing accurate financial information to help ensure the district’s resources are aligned with its priorities and needs while also serving as the board secretary for school board meetings.
The SBO is an official authorization agent that comes under the guidance of the Iowa Board of Education. The position is tasked with supervision and responsibility for the overall financial operation of the school district.
“I have valued that Tim and I have been aligned philosophically on responsible spending and long-term financial stewardship,” Kooiker said of Reinert. “This shared perspective has allowed us to work effectively together on many operational and financial decisions.”
Kooiker was sorry to see Reinert go but she is excited about the future and the opportunities ahead for continued growth, improvement, and new perspectives in the district and the new hire.
The district has already begun advertising for the open position and Kooiker said the position has received significant interest.
“We recognize that the timing can be challenging, particularly with school-year contracts typically running from July 1 through June 30,” she said. “We are being thoughtful and intentional in the process to ensure we find the right person to join our team, contribute their expertise, and help lead our district forward.
“We are optimistic about what lies ahead and look forward to the opportunities this next chapter will bring.”
