Kathryn S. Tucker, 66, Hornick

October 2, 1943 – September 22, 2010

    Kathryn S. Tucker, 66, of Hornick, died Sept. 22, 2010, in Hornick. Funeral services were held Sept. 27, 2010, at Whiting Christian Church in Whiting, with interment in the Whiting City Cemetery.
    Kathryn Sue was born Oct. 2, 1943, at Council Bluffs, the daughter of Gerald and Susie (Bledsoe) Richardson. She graduated from Glenwood High School in 1961 where she excelled in sports and academics and also met her future husband, Garry. They were united in marriage Oct. 6, 1961, at Glenwood. The couple made their home in Whiting for 22 years, and for the past 13 years, have resided in Homick. Kathy was currently Human Resources/event director with Pech Optical.
    Kathy was a very friendly, vivacious lady, unselfishly volunteering her time in the community such as serving on the Woodbury County Election Board. She was a “people person” and enjoyed sports, cooking, gardening and trying her luck with scratch tickets. She was a loyal fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Her greatest passion was her family and time spent with her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Whiting Christian Church and was active in their Triple L women’s ministry.
    Survivors include her husband. Garry of Homick; a daughter and her husband, Wendy Sue and Bruce Reed of Farmington, Minn.; a son and his wife, Vincent D. and Tara Tucker of McCook Lake, S.D.; four grandchildren, Mitch and Madison Reed and Treyla and Traven Tucker; and two brothers and their wives, Bill and Keva Richardson of Thurman, and Gary and Virginia Richardson also of Thurman.She was preceded in death by her parents.
