Glenwood has quick start at Wayne State
The Glenwood girls track and field team opened the 2010 season on March 20 at the Wayne State College Indoor Meet in Wayne, Neb.
Glenwood coach Brad Rasmussen thought his team competed well and turned in some great performance for the first meet of the year.
The Rams’ relay teams got off to a good start to the season with the 4x800-meter relay team of Brooke Peckham, Ashley Grave, Emily Blum, and Maddie VanScoy placing fifth at Wayne State. The relay team of Shaniece Nott, McKenna Henze, Lexi Fisher and Shelby Brewster won the 4x160-meter relay and the 4x400-meter relay team of Nott, Fisher, Katie Larsen and VanScoy placed third.
In the 1,600-meter, Katie Larsen placed third and teammate Brooke Peckham placed sixth.
Kayla Anderson added a third place finish in the 3200-meters and Megan McKern place fifth in the same event.
Lexi Fisher added a gold medal for Glenwood winning the 400-meter dash.
