Glenwood crowns four at Atlantic tourney

Sam Jameson, A.J. Clark, Josh Clark and Hunter Hoffman won their weight classes for Glenwood at the Rollin Dyer Wrestling Invitational on Friday.

The host Trojans, ranked No.7 in the state in Class 2A, won the team title with 242 points. Glenwood was second with 219, followed by Winterset with 197 and Johnston with 188.
“We wrestled really good,” said Glenwood coach Brad Asche. “Overall, I was satisfied with the effort. It’s a big thing for those boys to get a taste of what it’s like to be on top and I think they enjoyed that. We talked about it before the finals matches and they were excited. It feels like we’re headed in the right direction.”
Jameson won top honors at 120-pounds, A.J. Clark at 138, Josh Clark at 145 and Hoffman at 182.
Jameson, who had been slowed by injury to open the season, roared through the 120 pound bracket undefeated.
“He had a really good tournament coming back,” Asche said. “He’s not in real good shape right now and he knows that but he came back strong, used all his skills to his advantage and got us rolling.”
Zach Magnussen lost in the championship match at 160 pounds to earn second place.

Rams split Hawk-10
