Georgia F. Emma Braker, 90
Georgia Flora Emma Bracker, age 90, died on Thursday Dec. 11, 2008. Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 13, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Boomer Township. Pastor Sara Jensen, officiated. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Joe in Boomer Township Cemetery.
Mrs. Bracker was born June 11, 1918, in Mineola, to Charles Rohrberg and Emma Minssen Rohrberg. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School and married John “Joe” Bracker. Together they farmed and raised their children in the Boomer Township area. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where she was active in the choir and ladies aid society. She loved to cook, bake, grow flowers, music, politics and religion and most of all her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John “Joe” Bracker in 1989; brothers, John, Alfred and Charles Rohrberg; and sister, Evelyn Fauble. She leaves behind her children and their spouses, Jolene Cox; Sharon Wagman and husband Chris all of Council Bluffs; Janet Langenhorst and Carrol of Newton, Kan.; sons, Bruce Bracker and wife Mary of Underwood; Monte Bracker and wife Ramona of Neola; nine grandsons; five granddaughters; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Beatrice Murray of Des Moines; brother, Roderick Rohrberg of Torrance, Calif.; nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home of Council Bluffs was in charge of arrangements. Memorials suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Hospice with Heart and Bethany Lutheran Home.
