Fremont-Mills girls win own relays, boys second

The Fremont-Mills girls and boys combined to win 12 events at their Co-ed relays last Tuesday in Tabor.

The Knight girls won four events and captured the team crown with 136 points, 19 better than runner up Southwest Valley. Fremont-Mills grabbed eight gold medals to place second behind Sidney, 165 to 118.

Kendra Fichter picked up a pair of top showings in both the shot and the discus. Also winning gold was Kenna Howard in the high jump and the Knights’ shuttle hurdle relay. The F-M girls also placed second in six other events.

The Knight boys team won four of six relays, taking home gold in the 4x100, 4x400, shuttle hurdle, sprint medley and distance medley relays.

Austin Gartner and James Switzer added golds in the 110-meter and 400-mete hurdles, respectively.

In the field events, Jaeger Powers won gold in the long jump and Connor Alley was tops in the shot.
The East Mills girls and boys squads both placed fifth.

Jami Oyster paced the Wolverine girls with a top finish in the 1,500-meters. Emma Seipold in the 400-meter hurdles and the shuttle hurdle relay team both picked up second place medals.

Nic Duysen’s top finish in the 200-meters led the boys. The Wolverines added second place showings in the 4x200, sprint medley and distance medley relays.

Knights 10th at Ram Co-ed Relays

The Fremont-Mills boys and girls track team both placed 10th at Glenwood’s Co-ed Ram Relays last Monday at the Council Bluffs Lewis Central Athletic Complex.

The Glenwood girls won the team title with 157 points. The F-M girls finished with 27 points. Sergeant Bluff-Luton took home the boys crown with 142 points. The Knight boys tallied 36 points.

The Knight girls shuttle hurdle relay team took third place while Kenna Howard (100-meter hurdles and high jump) and Kendra Fichter (discus) both took home fourth place medals.

Connor Alley paced the boys with a pair of runner up finishes in the shot and discus.
