C. Eugene Kelly, 90, Glenwood

June 10, 1921  - October 21, 2011

    Clifton Eugene Kelly, 90, of Glenwood, passed away Oct. 21, 2011, in Council Bluffs. Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Grace United Methodist Church in Glenwood, with Rev. Dean McPherson officiating. Interment was in the Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church or Glenwood Public Library. Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood was in charge of arrangements.
    Eugene was born June 10, 1921, in Mills County, to Clifford and Mildred (Slaughter) Kelly. He graduated from Glenwood High School in 1939. He was united in marriage to Wilma Winnifred Klein June 12, 1960, in Hamburg. To this union two children were born, John Eugene and Laura Ellen.
    Eugene was employed with NAPA as a parts manager for many years. He also worked for General Motors and Chevrolet. Eugene was a faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church and was also a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities. Eugene was a talented woodworker and an avid reader. His family will forever treasure the memories they shared together.
    Preceding Eugene in death were his parents. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Kelly of Glenwood; son, John Eugene Kelly of La Crosse, Wis.; daughter, Laura and husband Pat Lambert and their sons, Lucas and Samuel all of Glenwood; sister, Ruth and husband Warren Robertson of Council Bluffs; extended relatives and many friends.
