Costello Receives Heavy Criticism For Private School Voucher Vote

State Sen. Mark Costello and State Rep. David Sieck addressed legislation passed and under consideration at the state capitol in 2023 during a public forum Saturday morning at Glenwood City Hall.

Passage of legislation that gives tax dollars to Iowa parents who send their children to private schools dominated the discussion at Saturday’s legislative coffee at Glenwood City Hall.

Glenwood's season came to an end in Tuesday's state quarterfinals with a 57-39 loss to Dallas Center-Grimes.

A suffocating defensive effort and a 13-2 third quarter run by top ranked Dallas Center-Grimes was too much for Glenwood to overcome in the Class 4A quarterfinals at the Iowa State Girls Basketball

Harlan ends Glenwood’s season in district semifinals

Glenwood’s Kayden Anderson fires a three-pointer in front of the Harlan fans in the district semifinals. Anderson finished with 13 points off the bench.

All five of Harlan’s starters scored in double figures as the Cyclones ended Glenwood’s season with a 77-63 Class 3A substate seminfinal victory Thursday night on the Rams’ home floor.

Rams headed back to state basketball tournament

The Glenwood girls punched their fourth straight ticket to the Iowa State Basketball Tournament with a 65-45 victory over Pella in tonight's Class 4A Reigonal finals.

The saying goes "Victory is a thousand times sweeter when you’re the underdog."

Glenwood coach Brian Rasmussen can’t swear to that adage, but this victory certainly was sweet.

Water Issues Surface Again At Glenwood Public Library

Books from the Glenwood Public Library’s Children’s Department are being housed in a dry location. Two flooding events in 2022 caused significant damage in the basement of the library building.

Staff at the Glenwood Public Library continues to deal with water issues in the ramp that leads to the basement on the south side of the building.

Winter Whiteout - Southwest Iowa Gets First Substantial Snowfall Of 2023

Hunter Yager helps his mom Sami clear the snow from the driveway in front of their Glenwood home. The Glenwood area received around 7 - 8 inches of snow during Thursday’s winter storm that passed through southwest Iowa.

This time the meteorologists got it right right with their winter storm prediction.
