Verna Rose Stranathan, 89, of Lincoln, Neb.

Verna Rose Stranathan, 89, of Lincoln, Neb., died April 12, 2010. A memorial service was held on Friday, April 16, 2010, at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A. Street, Lincoln, NE 68510. Rev. James Miller officiated.  Entombment was private at Lincoln Memorial Park.

    She was born into the Davis family with seven brothers and sisters of whom she dearly loved, on May 28, 1920 in Glenwood.

    She married Wayne Stranathan before he went off to war on May 22, 1942. After the war, she moved to Lincoln with Wayne where she became a great mother, a dedicated volunteer and member of Christ United Methodist Church for nearly 60 years.

    Mrs. Stranathan is survived by her son, Mike (Deanna) Stranathan; daughters, Jan (Roger) Buman; Deborah Pierce; brothers, Edward and Leonard Davis; sister, Ann Friedell; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

    Memorials are suggested to Tabitha Hospice Care or Great Plains Alzheimers Association.
