USAF Heartland Of America Band Holiday Concert Dec. 9

The United States Air Force Heartland of America Band will be spreading holiday cheer in Glenwood next month when the ensemble returns to perform its annual “Sounds of the Season” concert.

Through the sponsorship of The Opinion-Tribune newspaper and Glenwood Community School District, the band from Offutt Air Force Base is returning to Glenwood for a sixth straight year to present its concert in the Glenwood Community High School performing arts auditorium on Sunday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m.

Free tickets for the concert are now available on a first-come basis at The Opinion-Tribune office, Glenwood State Bank, First National Bank and Farm Bureau Financial Services. Ticket distribution is limited to four per person.
Seating for the concert will be general admission and ticket holders will be required to be seated 10 minutes prior to the start of the performance.

The Glenwood concert will once again be the band’s lone public performance in Iowa during the holiday season.

The Opinion-Tribune editor Joe Foreman said the newspaper is honored to partner with the school district in bringing the Heartland of America Band back to Glenwood, noting the concert has become a holiday tradition for the community.

“It’s always a first-class show and the musicians in the band appreciate the positive reception and genuine gratitude they receive every year from their Glenwood audience” Foreman said.
