The Glenwood girls tennis team was swept 9-0 by a veteran Clarinda squad last Monday in Glenwood.
Despite the setback, Glenwood coach Tanner Teegarden saw signs he liked in his team’s play.
“I’m seeing a lot of growth in the girls and a lot more comfortability competing with each other in doubles especially,” Teegarden said. “It’s still a very inexperienced team in terms of varsity play, only three of them having competed in varsity play prior to this past Saturday.”
Kate Hughes scored the lone two points in singles play, and the doubles team of Cora Pestel and Hughes scored one point against the Cardinals’ No. 2 doubles team of Avery Walter and Brooke Brown.
