Rams 2-3 at home tournament

The Glenwood volleyball had a rough day against some good competition at its Glenwood Volleyball Tournament Saturday.

The Rams went 1-2 in pool play with a 21-13, 21-7 win over Council Buffs Thomas Jefferson and losses to Stanton 21-18, 20-22, 15-11 and Harlan 22-21, 20-14 and then lost its tournament play opener to Underwood 21-13, 21-19 in the fifth place match before bouncing back for 21-18, 25-23, 13-15 win over Red Oak.

Gretna would go on to down Bishop Heelan 25-21, 25-18 to finish 5-0 on the day and win the team championship.

Glenwood 19-16-21

Kate Lantz had nine kills to lead Shenandoah to a 25-19, 25-16, 25-21 sweep of Glenwood in Hawkeye 10 Conference volleyball Tuesday.

Lantz had three blocks to go with her team-high nine kill night. Ashlynn Hodges added six kills. Peyton Athen dished up 12 set assists.

Rams third at Harlan invite

The Glenwood volleyball team finished 3-2 placed third at the Harlan Invitational on Aug. 27.

The Rams dropped their opener 21-19, 15-21, 9-15 to Sidney before bouncing back in pool play to defeat Underwood 21-15, 18-21, 15-6 and Treynor 21-17, 21-17. In bracket play, Indianola knocked off Glenwood 21-19, 21-19 to send them to the third place match and a rematch with Treynor. The Rams downed the Cowgirls 22-11, 20-11.

Charlie Hernandez led Glenwood with 39 kills on the day. Zoie Carda added 17 kills.

McKenna Koehler paced the offense with 54 set assists and Delaney Holeton the defense with 38 digs.
