Knights get offensive in 21-1 road victory

Amanda Morgan was one of six Knights to record at least two hits in Fremont-Mills’ 21-1 win over West Harrison.
Fremont-Mills tallied season-highs in hits and runs in a 21-1 rout of West Harrison in a road out-of-conference softball tilt Thursday in Mondamin.
The Knights (6-5 overall, 3-1 in the conference) had six different players record at least two hits in their 14-hit attack.
Lily Crom led the way with three hits and three runs driven in. Lana Alley, Macy Mitchell, Amanda Morgan, Saige Mitchell and Kinley Blackburn all notched two hits and two RBIs apiece.
Saige Mitchell had an equally strong showing in the circle, allowing four hits no earned runs while fanning four in five innings of work.
Rylee Evans took the loss. The freshman surrendered 13 hits and 13 earned runs.
Fremont-Mills 4,
Shenandoah 3, 10 inn
A rare walk-off wild pitched proved the game-winner for Fremont-Mills in a 4-3, 10-inning victory over Shenandoah in non-conference softball last Tuesday.
Lily Crom and Macy Mitchell led the way for the Knights with two hits each. Crom drove in two runs and Mitchel doubled to drive in a run.
Saige Mitchell went the distance for Fremont-Mills. The freshman struck out nine and scattered three hits in the win.
Peyton Athen took the loss for the Fillies. She struck out 11 while allowing five hits and three earned runs.
East Mils 11,
Whiting 1
East Mills jumped out to a 5-0 lead in an 11-1 win over Whiting in non-conference softball last Tuesday.
Miah Urban had three hits and drove in a run and Brooke Jones and Kiley Barrett drove in two runs each to lead the Wolverines (3-10 overall, 2-3 in the conference).
Dayann McGrew pitched up the win in the circle after allowing three hits and one earned run.
Fremont-Mills 14,
East Mills 0
Fremont-Mills exploded for 11 runs in the second inning in a 14-0, three-inning victory over East Mills in Corner Conference softball last Monday.
The Knights notched nine hits and took advantage of four East Mills’ fielding miscues in the win.
Macy Mitchell led the way with three hits and four RBIs. The junior also scored three runs. Amanda Morgan and Kinley Blackburn had two hits and an RBI each.
Saige Mitchell tossed a one-hitter and struck out two to earn the win in the circle.
Kiley Barrett had the Wolverines’ lone hit.
Miah Urban took the loss for East Mills. She senior allowed five hits and nine earned runs in two innings of work.
