Glenwood's Chase headed to state swim meet


Glenwood's Patrick Chase, who is a part of the Council Bluffs Lewis Central Co-op swim team, qualified for this week's state swim meet.

Glenwood’s Patrick Chase has qualified in four events for this week’s Iowa State Meet 

Swimming as part of Council Bluffs Lewis Central Co-op team, Chase qualified in the 50-yard free style, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle relay and the 400-yard freestyle.

The Titans finished fourth with 220.5 points at the district swim meet in Johnston on Friday. West Des Moines Valley was the district champion with 477.5 points.

Chase tied for second in the 100-yard butterfly at Johnston. His 52.84 in the 100-yard butterfly was third fastest in team history. He added fifth place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle and he anchored the 200-yard and 400-yard freestyles relays to fourth place medals.

Will Getter, also a Glenwood member of the LC team, was a part of the Titans’ 200-yard medley relay that placed sixth. He also added an 11th place finish in the 100-yard backstroke and 15th place showing in the 100-yard freestyle.

The state swim meet commences Friday at the University of Iowa’s Campus Recreation and Wellness Center.
