Glenwood boys 13th at Tiger Twilight meet

Glenwood’s Jaxton Long, shown here earlier this season, placed 95th with a time of 18:56 at Friday’s Tiger Twilight Meet in Fremont, Neb.

Glenwood finished 13th in the team standings at the Tiger Twilight Cross Country Meet in Fremont, Neb. on Friday.

Aiden Gehring won the boys race with a time of 15:16 to lead Papillion South to the team title. The Titans tallied 57 to runner-up Elkhorn South’s 82.

The Rams finished with 392 points for 13th place.

With 19 teams and 166 boys running the meet featured a stacked field that included several Nebraska Class A (largest class) schools.

“This was by far the toughest competition we will probably see all year with the winning time being by the returning state champion from Papillion-LaVista South,” said Glenwood boys coach Todd Peverill.

Cole Berglund paced Glenwood with an 82nd place time of 18:30. Deagan Stanley was five seconds back of Berglund for 86th place.

“We have been working on running as a pack and this meet showed the success of that work,” Peverill said. “Cole is a sophomore with the other top varsity runners being freshmen and sophomores as well.”

Lucas Kauffman was 94th and Jaxton Long was 95th to complete the Rams’ scoring.
