Shop, eat and drink at the Shop Hop
Mills County residents are encouraged to come out and “shop, eat and drink” during the annual Glenwood Shop Hop taking place Friday and Saturday Nov. 3-4. Thirteen Glenwood businesses, located throughout the community, are taking part in the event designed to showcase local retailers and establishments and encourage hometown shopping.
Organizers have added a new twist to the Shop Hop this year - a passport program.
“When you come in the first business on the Shop Hop, it doesn’t matter where you start at, you’ll be given a passport,” JWren clothing boutique owner Jeni Kirsch said. “On the back side is map of all the locations. They need to just check in at each place they go to and have somebody at that location stamp their passport.
“When they stop at the very last stop, they’ll turn their passports in. The business owners taking part will meet the following week and we all have prizes we’ll be drawing for.”
Kirsch stressed that no purchase is necessary to get a passport stamped.
“It’s just kind of a way to encourage people to go to all of the locations so they’ll be eligible for all of the prizes,” Kirsch said. “They’re not obligated to purchase anything in any of the places, we just want them to come through the front door and stop in.”
Kirsch noted that each of the Shop Hop businesses are having their own door busters, special sales and discounts. Hours will vary at the participating businesses.
The following Glenwood merchants are taking part in this year’s Shop Hop:
Shop - Garden Treasurers, JWren Boutique, McCormick Station, Mitzi Mo’s, Sharp Street Groomers, Town Floral.
Eat - Adriano’s Brick Oven Pizza, Buck Snort, Gathering Place, Sugar Makery.
