Roy Less Stegemann, 70, Pacific Junction
Roy Less Stegemann, age 70, of Pacific Junction, died March 12, 2009, in Council Bluffs. Memorial services were held Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Pacific Junction United Methodist Church. Pastor Mike Stevens officiated. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Mr. Stegemann was born Dec. 9, 1938, in Crawford County, near Denison to Marcus and Edna (Bielenberg) Stegemann. He was united in marriage to Roxanna Gayle Horn on Sept. 26, 2008, in Pacific Junction. He was a truck driver for Warner Trucking and had owned his own trucking business called Hope and Sympathy. He loved his cats and dogs and raised show pigeons for many years in Perry, Boone and Des Moines. He loved stock car racing and enjoyed telling jokes and visiting with people. Mr. Stegemann raised beautiful iris and other varieties of flowers, as well as vegetables and would often share them with his neighbors and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Roxanna (Horn) Stegemann of Pacific Junction; daughter, Crystal Stegemann and significant other, Harlan Bender of Omaha; son, Douglas and wife Kim Stegemann of Conway, Ark.; sister, Mary Ann Fertig of Wall Lake; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; extended relatives and a host of friends.
Memorials may be made to the Pacific Junction Fire Dept., Glenwood Fire Dept. or Pacific Junction United Methodist Church. Petersen Mortuary in Glenwood was in charge of arrangements.
