Rams third, sixth at Harlan invite

HARLAN - The Glenwood girls placed third and the boys sixth at the Harlan Invitational Cross Country Meet Saturday.

Denison won the girls team title with 47 points while Underwood’s Karley Larson won the individual crown with a top time of 19:25.08.

The Glenwood girls finished with 101 points, 11 points behind runner up Harlan.

The Rams’ Aubrey McIntyre finished with a time of 21:03.15 to place seventh overall. Kate Kaufman added an 11th place finish and Lacey Jackson a 22nd place showing.

On the boys sides, the host Cyclones had three runners place in the top 10 to finish on top of the team standings with 43 points. Council Bluffs Lewis Central’s Brenden O’Brien won the individual title with a top time of 17:01.72.

Glenwood was led by Parson Covington’s 17th place time of 18:22.72.

Rams second at Tri-Center invite

Parson Covington placed seventh to lead the Glenwood boys cross country team to a runner up showing at the Tri-Center Invitational Cross Country Meet at Arrowhead Park in Neola last Tuesday.

The host Tigers won the meet with a score of 51. Glenwood finished second in the team standings with 79 points.

Boyer Valley’s Joe Weber bested Gage Greave of Missouri Valley by 16 seconds to win the individual crown. Weber posted a time of 18:28.

Covington paced the Rams with a time of 19:12.

Glenwood’s William Ingels was 13th in 20:04, Mason Parks was 17th in 20:22, Victor Salerno was 19th in 20:26, Andrew Mullennax was 23rd in 20:35, Ethan Thompsen was 25th and Gabe Thomsen was 31st.

The Southwest Iowa cross country team, a cooperative team of Fremont-Mills and Sydney, placed ninth with 254 team points.

Logan Gaylord paced the Warriors with a time of 23:11.
