Plattsmouth Toll Bridge repairs to result in on-and-off closures over next 4 months

The Plattsmouth Toll Bridge, which serves as a link between western Mills County and Cass County, Neb., will be undergoing repair work over the next four months.

Motorists are being warned that at times during the repair work, periodic bridge closure will be required. Daily signage will be posted on the Nebraska side of the bridge during the repair project to notify motorists of the closures.

According to a press release from the Plattsmouth Bridge Commission, signs will be placed at the roundabout on Webster Blvd. in Plattsmouth, just east of the north bound exit ramp off of Highway 75, on South Chicago near the exit from Highway 75 and on Livingston Road. The commission made no mention of posting signage on the Iowa side of the bridge.

The bridge commission said the nature of the work does not allow for notice of each closure and reopening to be announced in the press. Depending on the actual difficulty in making some of the repairs, the work may take between 60 and 120 calendar days.
