Operation Southern Exposure

On April 16 and 17, the Glenwood Police Department will be teaming up with other law enforcement agencies to participate in "Operation Southern Exposure," sponsored by the Governor's Traffic Safety Bureau and NHTSA.

Although last year in Iowa, we hit a 63-year low, we still lost 372 people in traffic accidents. Over the last five years, 19 people have died in Mills County accidents. The Glenwood Police Department thinks even one is too many, which is why officers will be out on April 16 and 17, paying particular attention to drivers who don't wear their seat belts, who drive under the influence of alcohol and narcotics and who are speeding.

The Glenwood Police Department believes that with stepped up patrol tactics and the help of the police, wearing their seat belts and being cautious, courteous drivers, we can make Glenwood and Mills County a safer place to live.
