Norma Lois Williams, age 58, of Glenwood, died Friday, May 21, 2010, at her home in Glenwood. Family visitation was held Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at the Hertz Funeral Home in Glenwood.
Norma, one of four children of Beverly Sue (Nichols) Morrison and Eugene Albert Morrison, was born June 4, 1951, in Creston, Iowa. In 1960, the family moved to Glenwood, where her father worked at the Glenwood State School. She loved growing up in Glenwood and was especially proud to be a member of the Glenwood High School Class of 1969. Following graduation, Norma attended the University of Iowa and the Eastern Iowa Community College. In 1972, she began working as a laboratory technician at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs. She remained at Mercy until her health forced her to take disability leave in 2009.
On Feb. 26, 1972, Norma and Craig Williams were married at Grace United Methodist Church in Glenwood. The couple made their home in Glenwood and their marriage was blessed with one son, Jeremy Craig. Norma’s many enjoyments included reading, gardening, and SuDoku puzzles. She loved playing with her grandchildren, bicycling on the trails, and traveling with her family. She always cherished the time she spent with her family and friends, especially her lifelong friend Virginia (Stinard) Kellogg and her husband Craig.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Craig Williams of Glenwood; son Jeremy Williams and wife Megan and grandchildren, Eleanora and Dexter, of Rochester, Minn.; parents, Eugene and Sue Morrison of Glenwood; sisters, Patricia Wheeler of Langdon, N.D.; and Georgia Daffron and husband Oran; and brother John Morrison and wife Pam, all of Glenwood; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
