Louise Haack, 93, Glenwood

January 12, 1918  - February 19, 2011

    Anna Louise (Wright-Kier) Haack, 93, of Glenwood, entered into eternal rest on Feb. 19, 2011, at Glen Haven Home in Glenwood. Graveside Services and interment will be held Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood is in charge of arrangements.
    She was born Jan. 12, 1918, in Strahan, to George and Nellie (Shannon) Antrim. Louise was united in marriage to Willard Wright on April 12, 1936, in Rock Port, Mo. To this union two daughters were born, Nancy and Wilma. The family lived on the farm near Pacific Junction, which was always “home” to Louise even after she moved to Glenwood. She enjoyed being a farm wife and raising her girls on the land she so dearly loved. She later earned her real estate license and was a former secretary for an insurance company in Glenwood. After Willard passed away, Louise later married Pete Kier and the couple enjoyed over 20 years together. Following Pete’s passing, Louise was united in marriage to Oscar Haack on Jan. 12, 1997.
    Louise was very active in Grace United Methodist Church and U.M.W. until she was no longer able. She was a talented seamstress and made numerous quilts throughout the years. Louise was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Blue Birds, 4-H Leader, Glenwood Senior Center, Farm Bureau, Glenwood Alumni Association, Mills County Museum and Friends of the Library. She was also active in the Heritage Club, Glenwood Garden Club, Statesman Club and several bridge groups. One could also see her volunteering at the Davies Amphitheater. She was an avid traveler and visited numerous countries through the years. In her spare time, she loved tending to her beautiful flower gardens.
    Preceding Louise in death were her parents; three husbands; two brothers, Harold and Glen Antrim and son-in-law, Gordon Mulholland. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Mulholland and Wilma Ring both of Glenwood; step-sons, Joe and Debbie Kier of Denver, Colo., and John and Deta Kier of Omaha, Neb.; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Fichter of Shenandoah; extended relatives and a host of friends.
