Doris A. Cody, 85, Council Bluffs

June 20, 1925  - September 30, 2010

Doris Anne Cody, age 85, of Council Bluffs, passed away Sept. 30, 2010, at Risen Son Nursing Home. Doris was born June 20, 1925, in Harrison County, to the late William H. and Alma (Dishon) Teager. She graduated from Glenwood High School in 1943 and earned a degree in elementary education from U.N.O. in 1969. Doris married Richard Cody on May 30, 1945. They were blessed with two children, Richard and Linda. Doris taught school in rural Mills County and taught second grade at Lewis Central from 1959-1987. She was a member of Council Bluffs Retired Teachers Association; NEA; ISEA; LCEA and Alpha Beta Kappa Education Sorority. Doris was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara L. Brenenstall and brother, Lloyd T. Teager. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Richard Cody; daughter, Linda Cody both of Council Bluffs; son, Richard Cody and wife Sharon; granddaughter, Susan Cody all of Linwood, Neb.; grandson, Jim (Melissa) Cody of North Bend, Neb.; sister, Ruth Camp of Phelan, Calif.; sister-in-law, Ruth Wing of Spring Hill, Fla.
    Visitation with the family, Saturday, 12 to 1 p.m. at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Funeral service, Saturday, 1 p.m. at the mortuary with Chaplain John Hansen officiating. Interment Walnut Hill Cemetery with a lunch following at Risen Son Christian Village. Memorials are suggested to: Risen Son or Asera Care Hospice.
