Lindsey V. Newman, 30, Glenwood
Lindsey V. Newman, age 30, of Glenwood, entered into eternal rest on June 27, 2010, in Glenwood, after a long and courageous battle with anorexia. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 1, 2010, at Glenwood Lake Park, Davies Amphitheater at 10 a.m. Bill Sargent will officiate. Interment will be at a later date.
She was born on May 19, 1980, in Sterling, Colo., to Dan and Arlene “Leanie” (Mickelson) Newman. Lindsey graduated from Glenwood High School in 1998. She enjoyed volunteering at the Mills County Storehouse and also helped people carry their groceries out at her parents’ store. It was the little things in life that made her happy. She was pleased when others were pleased. Lindsey was a kind and caring person and it would be her wish that people would be more understanding and aware about eating disorders and the hope of finding a cure. She will be missed dearly by her family and will live forever in their hearts.
Preceding Lindsey in death were her maternal grandparents, Marvin and Irene Mickelson; and great-grandparents, Ed and Ida Klipfel. She is survived by her parents, Dan and Leanie Newman of Glenwood; brother, Jared and wife Kat Newman of Council Bluffs; sister, Danelle Newman of Glenwood; two nieces, Presley Turner and Riley Newman; grandparents, Lawrence and Violet Newman of Auburn, Neb.; several aunts, uncles, extended relatives and a host of friends.
Memorials are suggested to the Mills County Storehouse. Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood is in charge of arrangements.
