Glenwood Superintendent Named
The Glenwood Community School District has named Devin Embray as its next superintendent.
At a special meeting Thursday night, the Glenwood Board of Education voted unanimously (5-0) to offer the contract to Embray, 43, who is currently serving as superintendent of the Independence Community School District in northeast Iowa, a position he’s held since 2003. Prior to that, Embray was an assistant superintendent and middle school principal at the West Delaware County Community School District and a middle school assistant principal at Fort Dodge.
Embray holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Central College (Pella), an A.S.C. degree in elementary education leadership and superintendency from the University of Northern Iowa and a M.S.E. in educational administration from Drake University.
Embray was one of four finalists for the Glenwood superintendent’s position. He will replace Dr. Stan Sibley who’s retiring on July 1.
