Supervisors To Appoint Next County Recorder
The Mills County Board Of Supervisors has another appointment to make.
Mills County Recorder LuAnne Christiansen submitted her letter of retirement to the board of supervisors on Dec. 17. Christiansen told the supervisors her intent is to stay in the position until the end of January. Her letter was submitted just weeks after Mills Country Treasurer Jill Ford announced she is retiring at the end of December.
Ford and Christiansen are both leaving office with two years remaining on their four-year elected terms. In both cases, the supervisors have the option of appointing a replacement to complete the term or call for a special election. The supervisors have cited the cost that would be involved if a special election were to be held as reasoning for making an appointment to both vacancies.
Before accepting the letter of retirement, board members praised Christiansen for her work in the recorder’s office.
Thank you for the job you’ve done for us, LuAnne,” board member Carol Vinton said.
