The Central Committee of the Republican Party Of Iowa has finalized the “Caucus-to-Convention” schedule for the 2024 election cycle.
The GOP election cycle across the state will formally begin on Monday, Jan. 15, with caucus night to establish the party’s platform and select the state’s choice to be the Republican nominee in the presidential election.
County conventions will be held on Feb. 17, followed by district conventions on April 6, and the party’s state convention on May 4.
“The Republican Party of Iowa remains steadfastly committed to preserving our half-century old first-in-the-nation caucus and building on our traditions of grassroots democracy in action across all 99 counties,” Iowa GOP Chairman Jeff Kaufmann said in a prepared statement last week.
The Iowa Democratic Party will no longer have its first-in-the-nation status. The 2024 Democratic caucuses in Iowa are tentatively planned for March after the party chose South Carolina to be the first primary of the nominating season.
