Malvern Woman Charged With Kidnapping Of Missing Teen

A Malvern woman has been charged with kidnapping after law enforcement officers located a missing teenager.

According to a release from the Mills County Sheriff's Office, on May 24, the Mills County Communications Center received a report of a missing 15-year-old female.  The juvenile was subsequently found and returned to her family.   

From the ongoing investigation, it was discovered that Crystal Edison, 41, had intentionally transported, hidden, and aided the juvenile in not returning home against the wishes of the parent, guardian, or custodian. Edison knowingly and unlawfully hindered the active investigation and recovery of the missing juvenile.

Edison was arrested and charged with 3rd-degree kidnapping (Class C felony) and harboring a runaway (misdemeanor).
