Malvern Bank Contributes $400,000 Toward Child Development Center

East Mills Child Care Solutions recently received a significant contribution from Malvern Bank for a proposed childcare center in Malvern.
East Mills Childcare Solutions (EMCCS) has announced a $400,000 contribution from Malvern Bank toward the renovation of the Lakin Foundation Child Development Center of East Mills.
EMCCS, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, has been working for a year to raise funding to renovate a former nursing home building, located at 905 N 2nd Ave., in Malvern, into a childcare facility. In June, EMCCS announced that the official name of the future child care center would be “The Lakin Foundation Child Development Center of East Mills” after the project was awarded a $1 million grant from the Charles Lakin Foundation.
The latest commitment from Malvern Bank is another substantial boost for the proposed facility.
“Malvern Bank recognizes the benefit that this project has on the development and success of the East Mills communities and school district,” said EMCCS President Meagan Schnoor. “Partnerships with local businesses are crucial for the success of this project to provide reliable and quality childcare that meets the needs of our children, families and communities.”
Malvern Bank President Jay Burdic said there are many aspects of the project that will be beneficial for the East Mills Community School District, city of Malvern and Mills County.
“Malvern Bank is always looking to the future, and this childcare center is absolutely crucial to the continued growth of Mills County,” he said. “This center will not only give parents another safe and reliable choice when it comes to child care, it will create jobs and boosts the economy in more ways than one. We are also thrilled that EMCCS chose to renovate an existing, under-utilized structure for this project, and we can’t wait to see the end result.”
EMCCS is actively collaborating with local businesses to identify ongoing opportunities for partnerships and fundraising.
