Hillsdale Lily Garden Event To Benefit Tanner Foss Project
Crafts, music and refreshments will all be part of the second annual Lily Fest at Hillsdale Lily Garden Saturday, July 16.
Garden co-owner Lu Peverill said over 200 varieties of lilies will be in bloom at the garden that covers over 1.25 acres southeast of Glenwood.
“This is our sixth year of being in business and eighth year of growing lilies,” she said. “Donations will be be sought throughout the day for the Tanner Foss Project.”
The non-profit Tanner Foss Project provides educational and hands-on opportunities for young people who have talent and interest in the fine arts.
Peverill said Lily Fest will include crafters from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Food will be available for purchase from the Fremont County Cattlemen and Sugar Makery.
A music concert will be in the back yard of the property from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with Broadway singer and actress Kelli (Whitehill) James, who grew up and graduated from Fremont-Mills High School in Tabor.
“She’ll be joined throughout the day by various individual singers and her brother Kevin Whitelhill and Leslie Foss and their band, Running on Empty.
Hillsdale Lily Garden is located on Highway 275 - south of Highway 34 near Lytle Ave.
