Glenwood's Storm-stricken Tree Limbs Ground Into Mulch

A crew from Regency Lawn was in Glenwood Friday morning mulching tree limbs at the Vine Street ballfield.

It took just a couple of days for the thousands of storm-stricken tree limbs and branches to get ground into mulch at Glenwood’s storm disposal site at the Vine Street ballfield.

Nebraska-based Regency Lawn, Inc., was awarded the bid to remove the storm debris during a special meeting of the Glenwood City Council last week. Regency’s bid of $28,400 was the lowest of three bids received by the city. The two other bids were for $42,500 and $58,764.37.

The limbs were mulched on site and are being hauled to a processing site near Council Bluffs. Regency owner Jacob Sherman said the mulch will be processed at the Council Bluffs site and repurposed for future use.
