Marian D. Blankenship, 76, Glenwood

December 1, 1935 - December 18, 2011

    Marian Delores Blankenship, 76, of Glenwood, passed away Dec. 18, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, at 10 a.m., at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Glenwood. Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Mills County Store House. Peterson Mortuary of Glenwood is in charge of arrangements.
    Marian was born Dec. 1, 1935, in Council Bluffs, to Joe and Irene Fost. She married Joseph Richard Blankenship Aug. 14, 1954, with whom five children were born: Doug (Dian) of Council Bluffs; Russ (Tracy), Randy (Jacque), and Mike (Colleen) all of Glenwood; and Betsy (Mike) Larrison of Council Bluffs. Marian was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend.
    Marian will be especially remembered for her loving ways, generosity and thoughtfulness. She was a member of P.E.O., The Red Hats, Garden Club, Beta Sigma Phi sorority, a volunteer at the Mills County Store House, a past flower show judge at the Mills, Montgomery and Fremont County fairs and an avid bridge player.
    Other survivors include her sister, Joan (Gary) Belt of Wentzville, Mo., 13 beautiful grandchildren and three nephews. Marian was preceded in death by her father, Joe and mother, Irene Fost and an infant grandson, Joseph Allen Blankenship.
