Knights down Sidney in Corner Conference

    The Fremont-Mills volleyball team swept Sidney 25-18, 27-25, 25-9 in Corner Conference volleyball last Tuesday.
    The Knights improve to 10-8 overall and 3-2 in the conference with the win.
    “Right now we are struggling with our consistency,” said Fremont-Mills coach Abby Brownless. “ There are times when we play very well and there are times in which we make mental mistakes.  I have been very pleased with our defensive effort all season.  Our passing and hustle have kept us in many matches. We will continue to work on our hitting and serving efficiency.”
    Macy Williams and Taryn Williams each had six kills in the win.
    Madison Powers added four kills and Kendall Fichter had 16 assists and served 28-of-30 with a career-high 10 aces.

Knights 1-2 at tourney
    The Fremont-Mills volleyball team went 1-2 at its own Knight Invitational on Sept. 24.
    The Knights dropped its first two decisions to Rock Port, Mo. 12-21, 21-16, 14-16 and to Riverside 12-21, 21-19, 10-15 before defeating Sidney 21-11, 21-12 in the tournament capper.
    Taryn Williams led the Knights with 13 kills in the tournament.
    Macy Williams added seven kills.
    Kendall Fichter had 25 assists and six aces.

    East Mills knocked off Fremont-Mills 25-13, 13-25, 21-25, 26-24, 15-12 in Corner Conference volleyball action on Sept. 20.
    The Knights were led Taryn Williams with seven kills. Macy Williams added six kills.
    Emily Smith had four kills.
    Kendall Fichter dished out 20 assists and served 19-of-20 with five aces.
