JoAnn Vera Chaney, age 72, of Glenwood

    JoAnn Vera Chaney, age 72, of Glenwood, formerly of Medford, Ore., died at her daughter’s home in Glenwood on Aug. 9, 2009.  A memorial service will be held in Medford. 

    She worked as a nurse’s aid in a Colton, Ore., nursing home. She had been recently diagnosed with lung cancer and moved to Glenwood.

    Mrs. Chaney was preceded in death by her husband, Daun Chaney; daughter, Fern Kappes; and brother, Bob Hawkins. She is survived by her daughter, Diana Evans and husband Anthony, of Glenwood; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters, Ellen Merrill and Julia Moore, both of White City, Ore.; and brother Walt Hawkins of Montana.
