F. E. “Pete” Messenger, 84, of rural Malvern, passed away at his home on Nov. 14, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, at the Hertz Funeral Home in Glenwood with burial in Silver City Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at the funeral home, with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials suggested to Heartland Hospice of Red Oak.
Survived by his wife Virginia Messenger of Malvern; children, Cindy Murphy and husband Dave of Harlan; Paul Messenger and wife Salinda of Lanham, Md.; and Rebecca Lichtenberg and husband Jerome of Ida Grove; brother Jerry Messenger of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
