The Mills County Chamber Of Commerce coordinated a ribbon-cutting ceremony during a soft opening at Pizza Hut on June 12.

Glenwood residents who’ve been craving Pizza Hut’s pizza, pasta and sandwiches for the past year and a half can get their fix once again.
After a soft opening last Wednesday with members of the Mills County Chamber Of Commerce, the new Glenwood Pizza Hut restaurant officially opened on Thursday.
“We’re incredibly excited to be back,” Staab Management Co. Area Coach Troy Miller said. We’ve been away from here for 18 months. We’re just excited to be back in Glenwood and being a community partner.”
Pizza Hut is located at 710 S. Locust St., in a new building that also houses a Runza restaurant, which opened in April.
The new Pizza Hut has a contemporary feel and look to it. The menu features all of Pizza Hut’s traditional offerings, including pan and hand-tossed pizzas, pastas, chicken wings and sandwiches.
There’s also some new features, including a pizza melt, a bar with local and domestic draught and bottled beers, made-to-order salads and Tavern Style Pizza, a hand-tossed pie cut into 16 slices.
“It is spicy. It’s got a kick to it,” Miller said. “If you love anything with flavor, you definitely want to try it out.”
Miller noted that delivery is available all day and every day. The restaurant is open Sunday – Thursday from 10:30 a.m. – 11 p.m. and from 10:30 a.m. – Midnight on Friday and Saturday.
“We encourage people to take advantage of how comfortable you can be at home. Just order pizza,” he said. “We inspect it before we send it – we call it the iconic check. We take pride in that.”
The restaurant will employ up to 40 people, including many young people from the Glenwood area.
“We support our young people with a scholarship,” Miller said. “On top of their pay, 50 cents for every hour they work goes toward a college scholarship – for a college or trade school.”
Pizza Hut was formally welcomed back to the community during a ribbon cutting ceremony, hosted by the Mills County Chamber Of Commerce.
