Pacific Junction City Clerk Korrena Neppl Recognized For Flood Recovery Efforts

Pacific Junction City Clerk Korrena Neppl was recently presented the Metropolitan Area Planning Agency’s 2022 Regional Citizenship Award for her efforts in helping the Mills County community recover from the devastating Missouri River flood event of 2019.

MAPA’s Regional Citizenship Award honors an individual who recognized regional problems and initiated and supported policies which required a shared regional effort and contributed to the region’s quality of life. As Pacific Junction’s city clerk and a flood survivor herself, Neppl was recognized for being “a selfless leader throughout the entire process of helping the community recover in the aftermath of the historic 2019 floods.”

“Korrena is a wonderful representative of and champion for a small but determined community,” said Michael Helgerson, MAPA Executive Director. “She has persisted in assisting the city and its residents in obtaining state and federal aid, which involved coordination with multiple levels of government.”

Neppl was among several community leaders from the Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area recognized at MAPA’s annual Council of Officials meeting earlier this month at Bella Terre Reception Hall & Vineyard near Glenwood. Front Porch Investments received
