Chamber Staff To Remain In Place After Separation From Economic Development Foundation
The Glenwood Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has announced that Linda Washburn and Tana Saddler have accepted the opportunity to continue to serve as the Executive Director and Executive Assistant after the chamber and Mills County Economic Development Foundation end their sharing agreement for an executive director this summer.
Washburn has been the Executive Director of the Glenwood Area Chamber of Commerce and Mills County Economic Development Foundation, Inc. for almost 17 years. As of Aug. 1, her exclusive position will be executive director of the chamber. Saddler has been with the chamber as the executive assistant for six years and will remain in that position. Suzanne Tuma will also continue as a volunteer chamber ambassador.
Mills County will be hiring a full-time economic development director this summer.
“The economic development foundation has been discussing having two separate directors for many years. Mills County sees the need for a full-time director for economic development to put more time and effort into growing Mills County,” Washburn said. “Having two directors will allow each organization the opportunity to better meet their missions and goals. Tana and I are very pleased that the Chamber offered us an opportunity to continue in our Chamber positions.
“We look forward to continuing to serve the communities and businesses by providing resources, referrals, and programs to promote our business member interests to enhance the business environment and quality of life in our area through local, regional, and state collaborations as we have done in the past.”
Glenwood Area Chamber of Commerce President Scott Erickson said, “We are very glad Linda and Tana will be continuing with the Chamber. We look forward to the opportunities this will bring.”
The Glenwood Chamber of Commerce will remain in its present location at 5 N. Vine Street in Glenwood City Hall (712-527-3298, www.glenwoodia.com, linda@glenwoodia.com, tana@glenwoodia.com).
